Before You Call

Should I call or use the form?

If the truck is stopped, call. A phone call gets you a real arrival window and a price in about three minutes, and dispatch can often tell you what is happening before anyone leaves. The form is right for scheduling ahead, fleet quotes and anything that is not costing you road time right now.

What if I don't know where I am?

Read the mile marker off the small green posts on the shoulder and tell us your direction of travel. Failing that, describe the last thing you passed — a bridge, an overpass, a truck stop, a sign. Best of all, drop a pin in your phone's map app and text it. Do not guess at an exit number; a wrong guess costs more time than saying you are not sure.

Can you tell me what's wrong over the phone?

Often we can narrow it considerably, and we are happy to. Describe the symptom, read us any dash codes, and tell us what changed and when. Sometimes that conversation ends with us telling you this needs a shop rather than a mobile tech — which saves you a service call entirely.

Do you charge for the call itself?

No. Talking to dispatch is free, including when we end up telling you we are not the right people for the job. What is billable is dispatching a technician and a stocked service truck to your location, and you hear that rate before anyone rolls.

How far in advance should fleets book scheduled work?

A week is comfortable for routine PM work, and less is usually workable. After-hours and weekend windows — which is when most fleets want their units serviced — fill up faster, so earlier is better if you need a specific night. See fleet maintenance for how scheduling works.
